IN THE WORKSHOP......
HARVINGTON MANOR 1/24th scale

Late January 2009
Updated photo shows the rear exterior walls have been infilled and skimmed with plaster, after a few attempts have finally got the effect I was after, I want the old effect rather than having everything flat and level, visiting houses in places like Lavenham (Suffolk) shows that walls, floors and beams were not perfect in tudor times.
Also I was not happy with the kitchen floor (it was too level) so have ripped that up and a new one will be laid.

Floorboards and flagstones for the ground floor are finished and in place, have now infilled underneath the window and skimmed with plaster.

Early January
Been out of action the past few days with a bout of 'manflu'..
Floorboards now fitted in place, each one has been individually cut and then glued in place one by one.
Next stage will be to glue the kitchen slabs in place.

Dec 2008

The framework for my first timber frame building 'Harvington Manor' in 1/24th scale is now being fitted into place
Next stage is to fit the floorboards and install the remaining upright beams for the exterior walls

A bit of background to my worksop activities;

Although primarily I am a watercolour artist, I do love model-making, not just fireplaces and furniture, I have undertaken many commissions for other items.
My love for model making has now led me to buildings, here I can let my imagination go and hopefully I will create some worthwhile buildings and the neccesaries that go with them.
My wife and I have for the past few years travelled around observing old buildings, Herefordshire and East Anglia being a great source of old houses, we now have quite a large collection of books, photographs and notes.
A lot of my ideas also come from around and about from the area we live in.
Notably some lovely fireplaces in my local village pubs, what an excuse to go out for a pint!!

The past year or so I have been developing ideas for timber frame buildings and now the time has come to put it all into practice.

Any enquiries or commissions, then please use the email button below.
I can work in ceramic, wood, metal and resin.
